Aizawl: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma wants a digital state. He set this goal on September 7 while speaking at the Administrative Training Institute in Aizawl. The push aims to boost government efficiency and speed up public services. High literacy rates and a small population give the state a head start.
Lalduhoma launched several tools during his visit. These include the Smart ATI App, a Smart Classroom, and a Digital Learning Laboratory. "My personal vision and goal is to make Mizoram a digital state," the chief minister said. He believes the state is ready for this shift.
The Information and Communication Technology department has already drafted 36 digital portals. Right now, 19 portals work. Four are finishing up, seven are in progress, and six are currently moving through various implementation stages. Lalduhoma also wants every government office to adopt the e-Office system to cut through bureaucratic red tape.
Tech is not enough. The state needs skilled people to run these new systems. Strengthening the capacity of government staff remains a top priority for the administration as they push deeper into the digital age.
