Missing Tripura health worker found dead in Dumboor reservoir

Agartala: Search teams recovered Jiban Choudhury’s body from the Dumboor reservoir Sunday morning. The health worker vanished on the night of Vishwakarma Puja, triggering an intensive, days-long hunt. Local residents spotted the remains floating at dawn and alerted police.

Emergency crews pulled the body from the water. They transferred the remains for a post-mortem exam before returning them to his grieving family. The cause of death remains a mystery. Authorities have opened an investigation to determine how he ended up in the reservoir. “Authorities said further clarity would emerge once the investigation and post-mortem findings are complete.” The death has left colleagues and local residents in shock as they wait for answers.
