MGM College Students Explore Meghalaya Heritage

Kohima: Students from MGM College took a three-day field trip to Meghalaya last month. The Department of Commerce and the Department of English teamed up for the June 3 to 5 excursion. Nine people made the trip. Seven students traveled alongside faculty members Vikeduonuo Zumvu and Jemsungba.

The group hit the road to study the region's natural history and architecture. They visited seven major sites. The itinerary included the Garden of Caves, Umiam Lake, and Elephant Falls. They also toured Mawsmai Cave, Ward’s Lake, Nohkalikai Falls, and St. Cathedral. This travel helped the group understand the local culture and history.

Officials stated the program was finished successfully and safely. The college says the trip highlights their dedication to providing students with real world exposure. According to the college, the goal was "promoting experiential learning and exposing students to the region's natural, cultural and historical heritage."
