Meghalaya ruling coalition fetes newly elected Rajya Sabha MP James Sangma

Shillong: Partners of the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance 2 gathered in Shillong today to honor James Sangma. He recently won a seat in the Rajya Sabha representing the National People’s Party. The event served as an official welcome for the state’s newest voice in the Upper House.

Chief Minister and NPP leader Conrad Sangma praised the choice. He took to social media to signal his support for the new MP. "The MDA 2 has shown great trust in his capacity to represent the state in the Upper House of the Parliament. Wishing Shri James, Godspeed!" Conrad Sangma wrote.

The coalition remains unified behind the NPP candidate. James Sangma now prepares to head to Delhi. He faces the challenge of representing Meghalaya’s interests on the national stage.
