Shillong: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma is calling for a statewide push to curb drug abuse. He wants families, faith groups, and neighbors to step up. Government action alone cannot win this fight. The state needs a united front.

Sangma touted the DREAM Mission as the primary tool for this battle. The program works to stop addiction before it starts while helping those already trapped in the cycle. It connects prevention with long-term recovery efforts to restore hope for users.

Addiction wears many faces. It is not just about drugs or alcohol. Sangma pushed for a shift in how the public views these struggles. He urged citizens to drop the shame and offer support instead. "Meghalaya remains committed to ensuring that no one battles addiction alone and that every individual is given an opportunity to heal, recover and thrive," Sangma said.

Small changes add up. A single act of support can change a life. The state plans to keep building this movement to ensure no resident faces the dark side of addiction without help.
