Shillong: The Meghalaya government has entered into a strategic partnership with Singapore-based ITE Education Services to overhaul the state's technical and vocational training framework. Facilitated through the Meghalaya State Skill Development Society, this agreement aims to align local education with international benchmarks.

The collaboration focuses on several key areas, including infrastructure upgrades, academic curriculum design, and the development of quality assurance systems. Experts from ITEES will conduct a comprehensive Situational Training Needs Analysis to guide the establishment of the proposed Meghalaya Skills Institute. This roadmap will outline how the state can build a future-ready workforce.

State officials emphasized that the move is essential for closing the gap between current training and industry demands. "The collaboration marks a significant step towards modernising vocational education and aligning skill development programmes with global standards," the government noted. By refining leadership and capability building, the initiative seeks to broaden employment horizons for young people across the region.
