Shillong: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma toured the Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre in Hyderabad this week. He wants to bring its high-tech governance model to his own state. The center links multiple government agencies into one hub.
Sangma walked the floor to watch the systems in action. He checked out how staff use real-time data to sharpen decision-making. The facility coordinates emergency responses and public services across various departments through a single tech backbone. He thinks it offers a blueprint for any government trying to move away from outdated, slow administration.
The Chief Minister shared his thoughts online after the visit. "Among the country's leading Integrated Command and Control Centres, it demonstrates how technology, data and inter-departmental collaboration can come together to deliver more efficient and responsive public services," Sangma wrote on X. He believes these strategies will help Meghalaya improve how it serves its people.
His administration has pushed hard for digital modernization over the last few years. This trip marks another step in that plan. Sangma hopes to adopt these best practices to tighten up his own government's operations.
