The event took place at Matchakolgre LP School Playground in New Tura. Eligible families get Rs 5,000 yearly via direct bank transfers. The state plans to register new families every three months. Officials aim to support 300,000 households total. Sangma also touted the Rs 344.4-crore MegARISE project. This initiative protects the 39,714-hectare Ganol catchment area and the Umiew basin to secure long-term water for Tura.
The government is seeking partners to run a nursing college in Umsawli. The facility targets an annual intake of 60 B.Sc. Nursing students.
