Shillong: The Meghalaya Cricket Association sacked head coach Hemant Roy and assistant manager Sanjay Mondal. Both men are permanently banned from the association. The Meghalaya State Commission for Women found them guilty of harassing members of the Under-23 women's cricket team.

Roy made lewd comments about players and used abusive language. He also intimidated those who complained. Mondal physically assaulted a player in a hotel room during an Agartala tournament. The harassment took place in December 2025. MCA president James PK Sangma announced the firings on June 27.

The association also suspended honorary secretary Rayonald Kharkamni. Officials served him a show-cause notice regarding his failure to address the initial complaints. Sangma stated that the current leadership will push for change. "The association would immediately constitute a legally compliant Internal Committee, implement an anti-sexual harassment policy and strengthen safeguards for women cricketers," he said.

The commission faulted the group for lacking a mandatory internal committee. Former leaders Nababrata Bhattacharjee, Dhrubajyoti Thakuria, and Shining Star Lyngdoh were also cited for institutional failures. The case now goes to the MCA Ombudsman.
