Shillong: Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma convened a high-level meeting to tackle the gridlock paralyzing Shillong. He sat down with the Indian Army, NHIDCL, the PWD, and local officials to brainstorm ways to clear the Rilbong to Barik Point corridor.

The city needs relief. Plans on the table include widening roads, fixing congested junctions, and rolling out new traffic management tactics. Officials are also scouting long-term infrastructure projects to handle the region's rising vehicle count.

Pressure is mounting as the state prepares to host the National Games. Sangma wants the streets clear for residents and visitors alike. He told the gathered officials, "The government is focused on implementing immediate measures to address traffic bottlenecks while simultaneously planning sustainable long-term solutions for the city's growing transportation needs."

The Chief Minister thanked the Army and other agencies for their input. The state promises to keep pushing for better connectivity and a smoother commute for everyone in the capital.
