Shillong: The Meghalaya Board of School Education concluded a four-day workshop this Thursday aimed at improving how educators design and manage assessments. The event centered on the PARAKH Taxonomy, the Integrated Test Management System, and the creation of comprehensive question banks.

Prof. Indrani Bhaduri, who heads the National Assessment Centre at NCERT in New Delhi, led discussions on the necessity of consistent assessment practices. She explained that the initiative focuses on the Equivalence of Boards, which aims to ensure uniform quality in student testing across the country. She stated that her organization is focused on the goal of "maintaining equivalence in assessment practices and developing balanced question papers in line with PARAKH Taxonomy across school education boards."

Teachers and vocational trainers received practical instruction on building competency-based test questions. Technical experts from PARAKH, supported by local master trainers, guided attendees through the use of digital frameworks to generate these assessments. Participants noted that the training was an enlightening experience and expressed optimism about using technology to foster innovation and creative thinking in the classroom.
