Shillong: Mawlai dominated Laitkor with a 5-0 victory at the SSA Stadium in Shillong on July 30. This performance stands as the largest winning margin of the 2026 Shillong Premier League season. The match remained goalless for the first 45 minutes, but Mawlai shifted gears immediately after the break.
Samlang Rympei broke the deadlock in the 49th minute. He scored after Laitkor goalkeeper Deranius Wahlang failed to secure an effort from Jestibor Mawlong and Damangbhalang Chyne hit the crossbar. Fairming Suting doubled the lead just three minutes later. Wadshwa Latoo added the third goal in the 55th minute following a delivery from Robertson Khongriah. Basuklang Bina notched a fourth goal in the 71st minute with a deflected shot. Substitute Bajiedlang Rangslang finished the scoring in the 86th minute after driving into Laitkor territory.
Laitkor mounted minor attacks throughout the second half, yet they never threatened Mawlai goalkeeper Lambhamiki Lamare. The defense remained in control. Regarding the team's shift in tempo, a source noted, "Mawlai, however, transformed the contest immediately after the restart."
The league schedule continues on August 4. Sawmer plays Rangdajied United at 4 pm. Sawmer lost 1-0 to defending champions Langsning previously. Rangdajied United comes off a 1-1 draw against Meghalaya Police.
