Shillong: Jessica Chastain signed on for the Netflix drama series The Retrievals. The show adapts the podcast created by Susan Burton and Serial Productions. Chastain joins Emilia Jones and Amy Ryan. She plays Kaitlyn Langford, an art historian reeling from failed fertility treatments. The character sues the Yale Fertility Center after discovering she is a victim of criminal drug diversion. Showrunner Molly Smith Metzler said, “As a performer, she has the rare ability to convey extreme restraint and unbridled freefall, often at the same time.”
Mirzapur: The Movie is banking big. The crime franchise adaptation hit a Rs 203 crore India nett box office milestone in its second week. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the film is the fourth Hindi release of 2026 to cross the Rs 200 crore mark. It raked in Rs 50.45 crore between last Friday and Wednesday alone. Friday brought in Rs 9.50 crore, Saturday added Rs 13.30 crore, and Sunday earned Rs 13.10 crore. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday pulls were Rs 5.60 crore, Rs 5.25 crore, and Rs 3.70 crore respectively. The film launched on September 4.
