Mass Resignation Hits Congress in Nagaland

Kohima: Sixty-one Congress party members in Mokokchung district quit their posts and primary membership today. The group submitted their en masse resignation letter directly to the All India Congress Committee president. They are done. The exodus includes Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee officials, District Congress Committee leaders, Youth and Mahila wings, the Minority Department chairman, the Seva Dal chief organiser, advisors, and executive members.

These workers cite autocratic functioning and constant mismanagement by the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee leadership. They claim recent months brought chaos, confusion, and deep divisions to the local party ranks. The leadership allegedly ignored dedicated members and fostered an environment of mistrust and factionalism. The dissidents claim they stayed loyal even when the party neared extinction in 2015. They stated they can "no longer remain silent spectators to the destruction of the party organisation" in the state.
