Imphal: Manipur authorities delivered ex gratia payments to families impacted by the May 13 violence between Zoujangtek and Longsai Part-II villages. Noney district officials processed the funds on Monday to help those caught in the attack.
Smt. Thoirethei Thanga received 10 lakh rupees after her husband, Wilson Thanga of Dollang Chiru village, died in the incident. Two other victims, Olive Jatung and Aroma Jatung, each received 1 lakh rupees for their grievous injuries.
The central and state governments split the cost. Officials sent the money directly to bank accounts using the Direct Benefit Transfer system. Christian Home, MCS AC, handed the aid to the Deputy Commissioner of Noney. The district administration stated the help is intended to provide financial security during times of distress, adding that they remain focused on "providing timely relief and financial support to victims and their families" after the tragedy.
