Agartala: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha walked through the crowded aisles of Maharajganj Bazar in Agartala on Saturday. He inspected the fish market to assess crumbling infrastructure and chaotic traffic. The market is a massive commercial hub with heavy daily foot traffic. Loading vehicles frequently clog the narrow streets, turning simple commutes into a headache for local shoppers and pedestrians.
Dr. Saha spoke with traders, residents, and officials during his tour. He examined waste disposal methods and the current state of market facilities. He wants a cleaner, more organized space. The Chief Minister urged the public to stop littering and use designated disposal spots. "Maintaining a clean market requires the active cooperation of traders and citizens alongside administrative efforts," he stated.
The government plans to fix these issues in stages. Dr. Saha intends to coordinate with relevant departments to untangle traffic jams and modernize the site. Future development will focus on balancing the needs of local traders with public convenience to build a safer, more comfortable shopping environment.
