Tripura Chief Minister Reviews Infrastructure Projects and Power Grid

Agartala: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha led a high-level review of Tripura’s power sector and ongoing infrastructure works on August 8. The meeting, attended by Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, and Chief Secretary Jitendra Kumar Sinha, addressed urgent concerns regarding electricity reliability. Officials from the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited joined the cabinet members to discuss methods for maintaining an uninterrupted power supply across the state.

The group analyzed the development status of the Agartala Smart City initiative. They also evaluated repair schedules for national highways and roads under the Public Works Department. The session aimed to clear bottlenecks preventing project completion. It focused heavily on maintenance standards for state infrastructure.

Earlier that same day, Saha inaugurated the 54th Tripura State Badminton Championship 2026 at the NSRCC Badminton Indoor Hall in Agartala. The event showcases talent from every corner of the state. Saha emphasized that the government, Sports Department, and Sports Council intend to build better paths for young competitors. During his address to reporters, Saha stated, "Sporting events such as the state championship give players a platform to demonstrate their talent and competitive spirit." He promised continued government investment in sports facilities for local athletes.
