KSU Locks CBI Campus Temple After Illegal Construction

Shillong: Members of the Khasi Students Union Shillong Mihngi Circle locked an unauthorized temple under construction inside the Central Bureau of Investigation campus on Tuesday. The union issued a one week deadline for the structure to be torn down. Failure to comply will spark intensified agitation.

Jeremiah Pohthmi, the assistant organising secretary for the Central Executive Council, led a delegation to confront the CBI deputy inspector general. The meeting turned into a heated exchange. Neither side reached a resolution. Pohthmi stated the union had already warned officials about the project. He noted, "The KSU had previously taken up the issue with CBI officials who assured no further construction."

Work on the site continued anyway. Union members conducted a spot inspection and discovered the building was nearly finished. They promptly padlocked the doors. The union now waits for the demolition to begin.
