Kohima Traffic Advisory Issued for Tribal Women's Rally on June 19

Kohima: The Deputy Commissioner of Kohima has released a traffic advisory in anticipation of a public rally organized by Tribal Women Bodies on June 19. The event aims to draw attention to the ongoing IDAN sexual harassment case. Officials expect significant congestion throughout the town as participants gather and move through the streets.

The rally begins at 10:00 am at the Old MLA Hostel Junction, commonly known as Phoolbari. Following the initial gathering, protesters will move in a procession toward Lok Bhavan. To manage the expected disruptions, the administration has requested that residents avoid non-essential travel within Kohima during the two-hour event window.

Commuters who must be on the road are advised to bypass the procession route entirely by utilizing alternate arterial roads. The district administration has asked for public support to help manage the situation effectively. The Deputy Commissioner stated, "The general public to extend full cooperation to the district authorities to ensure public safety, minimise inconvenience, and maintain smooth traffic flow during the event."
