Kohima Traffic Advisory Issued Ahead of Public Rally

Kohima: Deputy Commissioner B. Henok Buchem has issued a formal traffic advisory for Kohima ahead of a peaceful public rally scheduled for June 19. Tribal women organizations organized the event to protest a sexual harassment case involving an IAS officer.

The rally begins at the Old MLA Hostel Junction, also known as Phoolbari, running from 10 am to 12 noon. Following the initial gathering, participants will conduct a procession toward Lok Bhavan. Authorities anticipate significant congestion and have planned traffic diversions throughout the area.

Residents should avoid non-essential travel and use alternate routes during these hours. In a statement regarding the upcoming demonstration, the DC sought public cooperation to ensure the event proceeds as planned. Officials remain focused on managing the anticipated disruptions during the morning hours.
