Guwahati: Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve has successfully expanded its reach for community-made goods by launching the Eco-Shop on the Government e-Marketplace and other major e-commerce platforms. This digital expansion aims to link wildlife conservation with sustainable income for artisans residing in the villages surrounding the protected area.

Managed by the Kaziranga Staff Welfare Society, the initiative promotes traditional craftsmanship using local materials and environmentally conscious methods. These efforts have yielded significant financial growth, with sales reaching Rs 1.87 crore during the 2025-26 financial year, a notable increase from the Rs 1.24 crore recorded in 2024-25.

The shop features a diverse inventory of textiles, woven goods, and decorative items created by local community members. By integrating with platforms like Amazon and GeM, park authorities expect to improve product visibility and provide consistent demand for these fringe-area creators. This initiative serves to bolster the local economy while celebrating the cultural heritage of the region on a national stage.
