The group submitted a complaint to the pollution board over dust from RNB Cement Pvt. Ltd. HITO President Donbok Dkhar warned the area risks becoming an industrial wasteland like Byrnihat.
Meanwhile, the Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement is demanding answers from the Meghalaya Urban Development Authority. They want to know why recruitment results for assistant architect and urban planner positions remain stuck months after interviews. Thomas Passah noted the delay hurts the credibility of the agency. He stated, “It is surprising that the selection process has not been finalised, leading applicants to raise many questions.”
In Tura, a group of senior citizens is calling for local hiring at Captain Williamson Sangma State University. They claim the school promised jobs to local residents during the land acquisition for the Balagre campus. The group insists the university must follow the state reservation policy.
