JNV Mukhla Students Join Push for Drug-Free Living and Cleanliness

Shillong: Students at PM SHRI Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Mukhla, tackled drug abuse and waste management this week. Officials from the Central Bureau of Communication in Shillong led the campaign. They ran sessions under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and the Swachh Bharat Mission. These programs target nationwide hygiene and addiction prevention.

Principal Neeraj Kumar joined local officials and staff to address the crowd. Experts taught the children the "Four Rs" of waste management: Reduce, Refuse, Reuse, and Recycle. They showed the kids how to start composting and manage biodegradable waste to improve school surroundings.

The event included a cleanliness drive across the campus. Students also competed in drawing contests and quizzes focused on healthy living. The day ended with a prize ceremony to reward those committed to a cleaner, drug-free India.
