Jitendra Singh Urges Intelligent AI Use in Government

Shillong: Union Minister Jitendra Singh wrapped up the 29th National e-Governance Conference in Jaipur this Thursday. He told government leaders to stop just chasing new tools. Instead, officials need to focus on using artificial intelligence with real intelligence to tighten up how they serve the public.

Technology changes fast. Old gear like VCRs and STD booths vanished in two decades. Singh questioned how administrative roles will look by 2047. He warned that tech is not just a side project anymore. “The challenge is not merely adopting AI but using it wisely. Human intervention will continue to remain crucial alongside technological advancement,” Singh said.

The event highlighted how India’s administrative reforms draw eyes from abroad. Countries like Sri Lanka and Mauritius now copy Indian systems. Closer to home, Rajasthan is leading the charge in digital governance. Local IT Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore confirmed the state will launch pilot projects based on the expert advice gathered over the two-day summit.

Digital transformation is hitting the countryside. Roughly 1.65 lakh Gram Panchayats submitted nominations for the National e-Governance Awards this year. This shows innovation is moving deep into rural India. Officials released the Jaipur Declaration to serve as a roadmap for future tech-driven policy. They want a government that stays accountable, transparent, and quick to react.
