Guwahati: East Guwahati Police District officers apprehended a 40-year-old woman for alleged narcotics trafficking during a raid in the Beharbari area. Acting on precise intelligence, the team from Basistha Police Station detained Fatima Begum at her hideout.

During the search, authorities seized seven kilograms of ganja, a mobile phone, and 1,100 rupees in cash. The police have launched legal proceedings against the accused and are currently working to identify her potential connections to larger drug distribution networks.

This operation is part of an ongoing state-wide campaign to curb the illegal drug trade. Officials stated that the "sustained drive reflects the government's commitment to combating the drug menace and dismantling trafficking networks operating in the region." Law enforcement continues to intensify these efforts, resulting in a string of recent arrests and contraband seizures across Assam.
