Kohima: The Ministry of MSME and the District Industries Centre held two workshops to promote the PM Vishwakarma scheme. They met in Kohima on September 11 and Mon on September 9. These sessions teach artisans to build sustainable businesses.
ADC Kohima Ruopfukuotuo Noudi spoke at the DPDB Conference Hall. He explained how the initiative supports traditional work. "It provides identity, certification, skill upgradation and toolkits to make traditional professions commercially viable," Noudi said. The event saw the distribution of first-tranche loan sanctions to local beneficiaries.
Wekrope Akami chaired the Kohima event while Jessy Jurry gave the welcome address. Experts covered product packaging, e-commerce, and QR code use. Loni Khing, H. Yitule Krichena, Ritu Pruna Prusty, Panii Eliakim, and Sutsunglila Pongen led the training modules.
The Mon Town Council Hall hosted a similar session led by EAC Shekhozo Vero. Anne served as chair. Trainers including Allen Konyak and Lohe Lokajiia Victoria focused on digital market entry. Shonpong Konyak and Polem managed the financial literacy segments. Attendees practiced AI-based design and GST registration to prepare for wider export markets.
