Peren Artisans Train on Branding and Digital Sales

Kohima: The MSME Development and Facilitation Office in Dimapur hosted an awareness workshop for local artisans on September 4. Held at the Women Welfare Organisation Conference Hall in Jalukie, the event aimed to sharpen business skills under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme. It brought together the Union Ministry of MSME, the Department of Industries and Commerce, and the District Industries Centre in Peren.

Technical sessions covered packaging, export development, and financial literacy. Kimthailiu Panmei of Crave Inn and Pink Blossoms Society led the talk on design and branding. She told attendees, "packaging in augmenting product value, brand recall, and marketability" is essential. Namziulung Pamai from the DIC explained how local makers can prepare their goods for international export markets.

Banking experts addressed the room. Talinaro Longchar, the Lead District Manager for SBI Dimapur, walked participants through loan applications and credit options. He also detailed social security programs, specifically the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana. Kezhono Kennao, a financial analyst for the RAMP scheme, spoke on business growth and networking.

Digital transformation played a major role. The State Programme Management Unit introduced AI tools and e-commerce onboarding to help artisans list products online. Vivek Kumar from the India Post Office in Dimapur showed how to create QR codes for better market links. Nikhilendra Y, Assistant Director at MSME-DFO Dimapur, closed the day by urging the artisans to use these state resources to grow their businesses.
