Four ULFA-I Militants Surrender to Security Forces in Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar: Four members of the banned militant group ULFA-I turned themselves in to the 44 Assam Rifles and Longding Police. The surrender took place in Wakka, located in the Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh. It marks a shift in the local security fight.

The group included 33-year-old SS LC Ajay Asom, 31-year-old SS LC Biplob Asom, 28-year-old SS LC Monei Asom, and 22-year-old SS Pvt Bolin Asom. Their fathers are Bhadra Kanta Borah, Jonmaijoy Das, Lalit Borah, and Biman Borah, respectively. The men gave up four pistols and 17 live rounds of ammunition during the handover. Authorities noted this event is a significant development in ongoing counter-insurgency efforts in the region.

Police officials confirmed that the case remains active. Further investigation is underway.
