Imphal: Manipur Police arrested four individuals, including two active-duty officers, following the discovery of over six kilograms of suspected WY tablets. The operation took place late on June 10 along National Highway-2 near the Kangpokpi district headquarters after authorities received specific intelligence regarding drug trafficking on the Imphal-Dimapur route.

A team acting under the supervision of the Kangpokpi Sub-Divisional Police Officer intercepted two vehicles, a Winger and a Nissan Magnite, near the local waterfall area. With an Executive Magistrate present, officers searched the vehicles and recovered 6.060 kilograms of the suspected substance.

The two arrested police officers are 42-year-old Constable Md. Zuma Khan, assigned to the Hengbung Outpost, and 42-year-old Head Constable Md. Hafizuddin from the Special Operations Team. The remaining suspects, Md. Zamir Khan and his wife Samim, both from Lilong, were also taken into custody. Police seized the vehicles and four mobile phones as part of the evidence.

Authorities have registered a case at the Kangpokpi Police Station under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act to track the origin and destination of the drugs. Regarding the involvement of law enforcement, officials stated, "Strict action would be taken against all individuals found involved in drug trafficking activities, irrespective of their position or status."
