Faizabad Lawyers Demand Fraud Probe into Ram Temple Trust

Shillong: The Faizabad Bar Association filed a formal complaint at the Ram Janmabhoomi police station on Thursday. Lawyers want an investigation into former Trust General Secretary Champat Rai and former trustee Anil Mishra. The group alleges major embezzlement of temple funds and donations.

Police previously blocked a planned foot march by the lawyers. Officers promised to register an FIR instead. The association wants a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation. They also pushed for the Enforcement Directorate to intervene. Millions are missing. Corruption allegations are piling up.

Bar Association President Kalika Prasad Mishra questioned the integrity of previous police reports. He noted that police grouped cash recoveries from ten separate locations into one entry. He believes this hides the truth. “There are serious questions over how the recovery of cash has been mentioned by the police,” Mishra said.

Court records detail specific thefts. Officials found 20.39 lakh rupees with accused Avinash Shukla alone. They seized 16.82 lakh from Anukalp Mishra and 14.25 lakh from Lavkush Mishra. While reports indicate huge sums vanished, the official record shows a theft of 79.85 lakh rupees. The Bar Association blames police for failing to guard the funds. Security was heavy. Theft happened anyway.
