Kohima: The Eastern Konyak Union and the Konyak Region of NSCN-K (Yung Aung) extended condolences to families hit by the deadly landslide in Nagaland's Mon district. Both groups confirmed their messages were late due to ongoing internet and communication failures across the region.
EKU President P M Aman voiced solidarity with the Konyak community. He praised the Konyak Union at the Mon headquarters for leading the search and recovery efforts. Aman noted that the operation was an "example of the unity, compassion and brotherhood of the Konyak people." He offered prayers for the families mourning their losses.
The NSCN/GPRN-K (YA), represented by Vice Chairman M Tolong, echoed these sentiments. The organization thanked the volunteers, local residents, and rescue workers who handled the relief and recovery operations. They cited the courage and selfless service displayed by these individuals. The group remains focused on the recovery of the injured and the safety of those still working on the ground.
