Kohima: The Don Bosco College in Kohima hosted a major job fair this past Saturday, drawing more than 500 job seekers and over 25 prominent recruiters. Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav formally opened the event, which aimed to connect local talent with employment opportunities in sectors including aviation, hospitality, construction, manufacturing, and technical services. Companies such as Reliance Jio, MRF, KFC, and Tata Engineering Station participated in the recruitment drive.

The event was a collaborative effort involving the ANMA Integrated Development Association, Don Bosco Job Placement Services, various National Career Service Centres, and the Regional Employment Exchange, all in partnership with the Ministry of Labour and Employment. Moatoshi Longkumer, the Advisor for Labour, Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, emphasized the need for youth to look beyond traditional government jobs. He noted that the state is actively working to build an ecosystem that supports entrepreneurship and market-driven skills.

During his address, Longkumer encouraged attendees to remain resilient and open to new career paths. He stated, "The greatest asset of Nagaland is not its natural resources. It is you-our youth. You represent the energy, creativity, resilience, and potential that will shape the future of our state."

Rev Fr Dr Roy George, Executive Director of AIDA Dimapur, highlighted that this was the third such fair held at the college in two years. He noted that the Don Bosco Job Placement Network has assisted over 376,000 young people across India over the past six years. Rev Fr Joseph Pampackal, the Salesian Provincial for the Province of Dimapur, reaffirmed the organization's dedication to the region, promising continued support in building skills and confidence for the next generation of workers.
