Kohima: SAMETI wrapped up a three-day training session in Dimapur focusing on agricultural marketing and market linkages. The program ran from August 31 to September 2. It targeted officers from the Department of Agriculture and ATMA functionaries. State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute director Bodevi Shuya led the event.
Shuya pushed for a complete overhaul of the state's marketing systems. He demanded better connections between local growers and buyers. "He urged participants to place greater emphasis on the needs and interests of farmers and ensure that relevant information, knowledge and opportunities were effectively disseminated, thereby enabling farmers to make informed decisions and improve market access."
The training relied on two primary experts. Prabin Das, a marketing specialist from CIH Medziphema, and Nukuzo Phesao, who founded Nature Fuel India and Warehouse 103, guided the sessions. The event finished with a valedictory program where attendees gave their feedback. Shuya provided the final comments. Every trainee walked away with a certificate.
