Kohima: Dimapur traffic officers now know how to save lives. The Commissionerate of Police in Dimapur teamed up with the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research, known as CIHSR, to run a two-day crash course. The sessions took place on July 23 and 24, 2026.
Traffic cops get to wrecks first. Proper handling keeps people alive. Personnel practiced hands-on techniques for emergency trauma care and pre-hospital stabilization. The training prepares officers to act as first responders who can extract and stabilize victims before help arrives. Quick work during the golden hour cuts down on permanent disabilities and prevents unnecessary deaths.
Commissioner of Police Aotula Imchen thanked the CIHSR staff for the partnership. She said the program marks a significant step toward strengthening emergency response capabilities and enhancing trauma care outcomes for accident victims in Nagaland. The department handed out certificates to all 25 participating officers at the close of the event.
