Agartala: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) began a state committee meeting in Agartala on June 18 to address key organizational matters and political objectives. Party officials are using the session to evaluate results from the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council elections and coordinate plans for upcoming village committee polls.

Jitendra Chaudhury, the CPIM Tripura State Secretary and Leader of the Opposition, presided over the meeting. He was joined by General Secretary M.A. Baby, former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, and senior Polit Bureau members including Md. Salim and Sramik Bhattacharya. The gathering serves as a platform to analyze both state and national developments while strengthening the party’s grassroots outreach.

Reflecting on the agenda, Chaudhury told reporters, "From today, the state committee meeting of the CPIM has started. This is a routine meeting in which we will discuss national and international issues, political matters, and the results of the TTAADC elections. Based on these discussions, we will take necessary organizational steps. The upcoming Village Committee elections will also be discussed."

M.A. Baby confirmed that the party will release an official summary of the deliberations once the meeting concludes. As the primary opposition force in Tripura, the CPIM intends to use these sessions to refine its electoral strategy and rebuild its organizational foundation ahead of future political contests.
