Kohima: Church leaders officially opened the Center for Thai-Nagaland Missions Platform at the New Land Church in Nong On, Udon Thani, on September 5. Rev Dr Chekrovei Cho-o of the Chakhesang Baptist Church Council and Rev Dr Boonrat Buayen of the Church of Christ in Thailand led the dedication ceremony. About 150 local and international attendees watched the event. The delegation from Nagaland included Rev Dr Vikuo Rhi, Rev Vesavo Shijo, Rev Muluvoyi Nienu, Zapove Swuro, Jolai Nienu, Theyekhai Ringa, and Mhusolu Demo.
This partnership between the Chakhesang Baptist Church Council and Church District 13 aims to empower rural populations. Rev Dr Zelhou Keyho and his wife, Santi Keyho, will manage daily operations. Keyho credited the Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima and Chozuba Baptist Church for their financial and spiritual support. He also recognized Elder Anan Nakdilok, Rev Siae Suthisan, and Dr Prawet Kidarn for bridging the two organizations.
The center immediately targets local youth with music, sports, and English lessons. Six strategic initiatives guide the long-term project. These include church planting, theological scholarships for rural leaders, and teacher recruitment. They also plan to expand this model to other parts of the 10/40 Window across Southeast Asia. Organizers highlighted the deeper purpose behind their efforts. “God has not sent us here merely to visit,” they said. “He has called us to work together for lasting and meaningful transformation.”
