Agartala: Top CPI(M) leadership convened in Agartala on Thursday for a two-day state committee meeting focused on navigating the party's future. The gathering features National General Secretary M.A. Baby and West Bengal state secretary M.D. Salim, alongside Tripura party stalwarts including former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar.

The meeting serves as a platform to evaluate the party's performance in recent state elections and calibrate its approach to shifting political dynamics. During the opening session, M.A. Baby stated, "Today, the state committee meeting of the party has commenced here, which will continue for two days. Once the meeting is over, we shall share the decisions that the party has taken."

State secretary and Politburo member Jitendra Chaudhury indicated that the agenda covers a broad range of internal and external concerns. A primary focus is the upcoming Village Committee elections, particularly following unsatisfactory results in the TTAADC polls. Chaudhury emphasized that the party intends to conduct a rigorous analysis of these outcomes rather than accepting them at face value.

Discussions will also extend to the role of the INDIA bloc. Leadership will deliberate on the best political adjustments to effectively challenge the BJP, ensuring the party remains a central player in the evolving landscape of state and national politics.
