Agartala: The CPI(M) has formally dismissed the recent TTAADC election victory of the TIPRA Motha, characterizing the outcome as a manufactured result rather than a true reflection of the public will. Tripura State Secretary Jitendra Chaudhury stated that the process was compromised by the distribution of black money, organized violence, and a deliberate campaign to fuel tribal and non-tribal divisions.
Addressing the press in Agartala following a two-day state committee meeting, Chaudhury argued that the alliance between the BJP and TIPRA Motha created an environment of confusion that ultimately rigged the results. He maintained that the victory relied on fearmongering regarding land rights and language preservation rather than actual service to the ADC region. He stated, "This victory has no connection whatsoever to any positive work done for the people of the ADC areas over the past five years."
Party leaders emphasized that the current political climate deviates sharply from historical precedents. During the tenure of the Left Front, the party secured all 28 TTAADC seats across three consecutive elections between 2005 and 2015 without the systemic issues reported today. CPI(M) General Secretary M.A. Baby added that the rise of reactionary identity politics is creating dangerous rifts among citizens.
Looking toward future political processes, the CPI(M) welcomed the Supreme Court mandate requiring long-delayed village committee elections in the region. The party declared its intent to monitor the situation closely to prevent further electoral manipulation, promising to expose any continued suppression of democratic norms.
