Guwahati: Senior Congress leaders and elected representatives met at Rajiv Bhavan in Boko on Tuesday to evaluate the party's organizational preparedness. The session brought together key figures including former MP Abdul Khaleque, leader Kishore Kumar Brahma, Kamrup District Congress Committee President Pranjit Choudhury, Samaria MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed, and constituency candidate Ramen Singh Rabha.
The meeting focused on internal reviews for the Boko-Chaygaon and Samaria constituencies. Participants assessed current outreach efforts and identified strategies to improve coordination among local party units. Leaders commended the work of party volunteers while stressing the need for continued discipline and active voter engagement.
During the proceedings, MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed addressed concerns regarding the party's public perception. He argued that the Congress maintains a broad support base across Assam, challenging claims that the party is restricted to minority groups. By comparing electoral vote margins with the BJP, he urged supporters to focus on the party's diverse appeal.
The gathering concluded with a call for stronger grassroots structures. Leadership prioritized energizing the workforce and refining communication tactics to solidify support across the region ahead of future political engagements.
