Shillong: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma ordered state authorities to stop the cycle of power outages and billing errors. He focused his heat on the Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Limited and its franchisee partners. Residents are fed up. They want the lights to stay on and the bills to be accurate.

Sangma chaired a review meeting to press for faster repairs and better communication. He pushed officials to swap out broken transformers and faulty meters immediately. Infrastructure upgrades are now the priority. Service must improve. He told those in charge that his government expects real results for the public.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister made his expectations clear. "While operational challenges exist, people expect reliable power, fair billing and responsive service," he said. He directed the franchisee to listen to consumer complaints and act on them without delay.

The state remains under pressure to fix its distribution grid. Officials must now strengthen their outreach efforts to regain public trust. Reliable electricity remains the primary goal for the administration.
