Kohima: Chümoukedima held a district-wide cleanup on May 22 to prepare the region for the upcoming monsoon season. The initiative focused on essential tasks such as clearing and unclogging drains, removing debris, disposing of waste, and trimming excess foliage to ensure public utilities remain functional during heavy rains.

SDO (C) and RO Thejavizo Nakhro led a joint inspection along National Highway 29. A collaborative team including the Water Resources Department, PWD, PHED, Fire and Emergency Services, the 1st NAP Battalion, the Chümoukedima Town Youth Organization, and NHIDCL worked together to clean the highway stretch between the 3rd Mile Airport culvert and the Chathe Bridge.

The successful operation relied on the collective participation of various government departments, the Chümoukedima Town Council, local village councils, community leaders, and civil society organizations. This effort aims to foster community spirit while creating a cleaner and safer environment for all residents.
