Assam Rifles to Hold Live Fire Training in Mon This September

Kohima: The 42 Assam Rifles are running firing and explosive drills at their Tactical Headquarters in Mon. The training kicks off this September and lasts through the 30th. Expect noise. The exercises occur daily from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Deputy Commissioner Wennyei Konyak issued an official notice on August 31 confirming the schedule. Expect loud blasts near Mon Town and surrounding areas. The military training is strictly routine.

The State DIPR warns locals to stay clear of the firing range and the camp perimeter. Keep children and livestock safe and away from the zone. Officials asked the public to remain calm during the drills, noting that "the activities are part of routine training."
