Assam Rifles Hosts Flag Ceremony and Mentors Students Across Nagaland

Kohima: Assam Rifles marked National Flag Adoption Day with a flag hoisting ceremony at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Nihokhu. Exactly 290 students and 15 teachers joined the event. Participants sang the National Anthem after the Tricolour went up. The troops explained why the flag stands for sovereignty and democracy. They finished the day by handing out snacks to the crowd.

The force also kicked off the academic year for the third batch of students at the Sub P B Chhetri Kirti Chakra Centre of Excellence in Ghaspani. This program offers coaching and mentorship for competitive exams. Officials told the new students to stay disciplined. Assam Rifles stated that it is "reaffirming its commitment to nurturing youth potential through education, leadership and character building."

Six newly commissioned officers from the Assam Regiment traveled to the Kohima Garrison on July 22 for an orientation. They started at the Assam Regiment War Memorial with a wreath laying ceremony. The group met with Maj Gen H S Mavi, the IGAR (North), to discuss leadership. Their tour included a stop at the historic Kohima War Cemetery to learn about the Battle of Kohima. The young officers finished their visit at the Kisama Heritage Village to study the local culture.
