Kohima: Assam Rifles is blanketing Nagaland with new community programs. They want to boost local education and tighten ties with civilians. On October 16, the Kohima Battalion joined the Cultural and Literary Day at Government Middle School in Kezo Town, Kohima. The event followed the theme Rooted in Tradition, Bound by Books. A representative from the force attended as the guest of honour. They handed out books to students and teachers to push for better reading habits. Soldiers also gave out refreshments to build camaraderie with the local staff.

The force turned its focus to child welfare elsewhere. Soldiers visited the Kohdi Children Home and Bethel Home Orphanage in Kohima. They brought computer sets to both locations to help kids get online and learn new digital skills. This equipment will help students sharpen their academic growth. Assam Rifles stated the goal is "promoting technological awareness and providing children with better opportunities for academic growth and skill development."

Fitness and art also hit the agenda. On October 17, the force held a Freedom Run in Zubza. Local children raced to celebrate national pride and pick up healthy habits. Meanwhile, 90 students at PM Shri Government High School in Peren grabbed pencils for a drawing competition. The art contest allowed young people to show off their creativity. These programs aim to keep the youth busy and build long-term trust between the military and Nagaland residents.
