Assam Rifles Advance to Human Rights Debate Finals

Kohima: Assam Rifles took the top spot in both Hindi and English categories during the Human Rights Debate Competition semi-finals. The event took place at the Assam Rifles Training Centre and School in Shokhuvi on October 22 and 23. Eight Central Armed Police Forces competed in the matches. These included the BSF, CRPF, CISF, RPF, SSB, ITBP, NSG, and Assam Rifles.

Organizers gathered 64 speakers to argue for and against the motion. Half spoke for the topic while the other half spoke against it. The debate aimed to sharpen awareness of human rights and how forces handle the public. Brigadier Chandan Singh Pathania, VSM, Commandant of ARTC&S, praised the competitors and staff. He said, "Brigadier Chandan Singh Pathania, VSM, Commandant, ARTC&S, appreciated the efforts of the participants and congratulated the organisers for the excellent conduct of the event."

Finalists emerged from the intense two-day session. In the Hindi category, two Assam Rifles teams will face off against one RPF team and one CISF team. The English category finalists include two Assam Rifles teams, one CISF team, and one BSF team. These qualifiers will return for the final rounds scheduled between November and December 2026.
