Guwahati: Assam Excise Department officials pulled over a truck at Nine Mile in Guwahati and discovered 800 cartons of liquor. The cargo originated in Meghalaya. The shipment lacked valid transit documents, triggering an immediate seizure of the goods. It was a bust.

Authorities took the driver, Sabbir Khan, and the handyman, Akbar, into custody. The two men remain under interrogation as investigators track where the load came from and where it was headed. Officials have started formal legal proceedings. The probe into the illicit supply chain continues.

An official stated: "The duo is currently being questioned to gather further information regarding the source and intended destination of the liquor consignment."
