Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met with President Droupadi Murmu on June 3 to provide an update on the state's economic progress and future development goals. This marked the Chief Minister's first interaction with the President since beginning his second consecutive term in office.
Sarma described Assam as India's fastest-growing state during the discussion. He outlined the government's strategy for maintaining this momentum through continued investment in infrastructure, public welfare, and economic initiatives. The Chief Minister expressed that the President's guidance remains a source of encouragement for his administration's public service agenda.
Alongside his meeting with the President, Sarma held discussions with Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in New Delhi regarding the upcoming Indian Institute of Management campus in Guwahati. This project is a key component of the state's broader ambition to transform Assam into an education and research hub for eastern India. Finalizing the details of the new campus remains a priority as the state looks to attract high-quality academic institutions.
