Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met with President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Wednesday to discuss the state's economic advancement and future development goals. This meeting marked Sarma's first official interaction with the President since he began his second consecutive term in office last month.
During the visit, the Chief Minister provided an update on Assam's emergence as one of the fastest growing states in India. He outlined his government's strategy to maintain this momentum through continued infrastructure expansion and welfare programs. Sarma expressed his appreciation for the President, describing her as an epitome of courage, resilience, and leadership. He noted that her guidance provides meaningful encouragement for his administration's path of public service.
Sarma sought the blessings and counsel of the President as he works to further the state's growth trajectory. Beyond the formal briefing, the Chief Minister also toured Granth Kutir at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. During his visit, he viewed a collection of manuscripts that highlight India's diverse intellectual and cultural heritage across 11 classical Indian languages.
