Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh held its first Tribal Artisan Empanelment Mela in Ziro Valley. Local craftspeople gathered to display traditional handlooms, organic goods, and various handicrafts. This event aims to push indigenous products into national markets. It supports the national Vocal for Local campaign.

Lower Subansiri Deputy Commissioner Oli Perme opened the event. DRCS Hage Komo served as the Guest of Honour. Asif Ekbal Hussain and Prabha Choudhury coordinated the day, working alongside local officials Dani Yamang and Takhe Tado. The Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India organized the effort to boost visibility for tribal goods.

Artisans completed registration to join the Tribes India network. This move links them to commercial outlets nationwide. Officials guided participants through the documentation process, which requires a Scheduled Tribe certificate, Aadhaar card, bank passbook, and photos. Participants also provided physical samples of their work. Organizers expect this to improve price realization for makers. As the official report stated, the initiative is "aimed at creating sustainable market linkages for tribal artisans, improving price realisation and increasing the visibility of indigenous products from Arunachal Pradesh in national markets."
