Ampati to Host TEJAS Startup Workshop on July 29

Shillong: South West Garo Hills officials are bringing the Transforming Entrepreneurial Journeys Across States and Districts workshop to Ampati. The event kicks off at 11:00 AM on July 29, 2026, inside the BADO Multi Facility Centre Hall. It is a big push to jumpstart startups in underserved regions.

Startup India and the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade run this program in 132 districts. The goal is simple: link local innovators with cash, mentors, and government support. The organizers want to help participants build and grow their own businesses.

The guest list is wide. It includes aspiring entrepreneurs, students, job seekers, artisans, and Self-Help Groups. Experts from the District Administration, PRIME, the Meghalaya Basin Management Agency, and the One District One Product initiative will lead technical sessions. They are teaching locals how to tap into national support systems.

This work aligns with the national vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat@2047. The District Administration stated, "The TEJAS initiative supports the Government of India's vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat@2047 by fostering innovation, encouraging entrepreneurship, generating employment opportunities and promoting balanced and inclusive economic growth across districts." Everyone is invited to sign up and get to work.
